Bad News

Words can't describe how heart broken I am to hear the bad news sobre mi hermano today from my sister Pesi.  All day long I was just sad and very disappointed over what had happened. It seems like a bad dream but I know it's not.  I just don't want to talk about it now but will write again in  a month time when hopefully thing get a little better and not too painful.

Count Your Blessing...

A single mother of two at her early thirty come to see me today at work as she's one of my clients and told me of her unfortunate story with tears falling down from her eyes. The poor lady has been married twice and both time failed. The first husband took their daughter to live with his parents at Turkey and won't let her see or talk to her after 6 yrs now. And her second husband now has remarried and now live just a block away from her! As I heard her story my heart cried out for her that tears start falling down from my eyes too! As a mother myself I could feel her pain and her frustration for not being able to see or hear from her daughter after all these years. Being a member of the church I know that Heavenly Father is mindful of her and what she's going through and this experience will only make her stronger and become a better person. It's true what they say that when you help someone elses burden it lighten up your burden. I mean after hearing my client's story I was reminded how blessed I am for having the gospel in my life, my family, friends, health, job and the list goes on.....

Rosario opening up her B'day presents

Seriously these photos posted are not even half of the photos & pressies Rosario received from her B'day party! Luckily Erick and I will be moving soon to a bigger house by the end of this month. The town house where we are living now its just too small and have no space for all of Rosario's toys!

A loving husband

(He adores me)

(My buddies at work)

I'm still sick with the flu but unfortunately I have to get up and go to work. I'm working for a company called Mission Australia as a Employment Consultant. It's a government job and we are based on helping people who receive benefit from centerlink (government) to find full time employment so that they can be off benefit. I have over a 100 clients which I have to help find works and it's not an easy job especially when half of them don't want to work and the other half are working cash in hands but don't want to declare so that they can keep receiving money from the government. You could imagine how tired I was after work at 5.30pm today and was only glad to be at home with my loving hubby and daughter.
Erick being a loving hubby let me take a nap while he took care of Rosario and at the same time cooks dinner (baked chicken, carrot rice and corn). Despite Erick imperfection he is very loving and understanding and he shows me that he loves me everyday. I am grateful and very lucky to have him as an eternal companion and I do love him with all my heart too.

Change of Heart

Delgado Family(General Conference) on a Sunday Morning

Sitting here on my bed in the middle of the hot night of November I could hear baby's primary songs softly playing on the background and also noises from the speeding traffic travelling outside. My heart is not at peace firstly because I'm still recovering from the flu but I know thCheck Spellinge main reason is because I have not been keeping the Sabbath Day holy. Today for example because I didn't go to church I've spent the day watching TV and getting my hubby Erick to buy me food from Red Rooster. Worst of all this is not the first time that it happened in fact is becoming a habit that our family on Sunday we always watched TV and eat out! Somewhere in my troubled heart I know that Heavenly Father still loves me and my little family. I will try to keep the Sabbath Day holy and will update it every Sunday as a goal to help me and my little family be on the right path.

Our little family

I'm lost for words and I still can't believe how hard and time consuming it was to prepare everything for our daughter's 1st B'day party. Trust me it was a learning experience for Erick and I as we strive to do our best for our daughter's 1st B'day party.

Here how it all started...Erick and I have set the budget for the B'day party to $2000. The B'day theme would be Princess. We wanted a beautiful b'day party for our daughter because we know one day she would look at those photos and see how much we love her by preparing a beautiful B'day party for her.

We were hoping to do her B'day party in a function room but now a days everything are so expensive. The function room normally cost over $1000 to book and on top of that for the quest we would have to pay $34-$40 p/head for food. So we decided to just do it at the RSL Club where the room is booked only for $150.00 and then our families would just help us decorate the room and for food (Buffet) it costs only $18.50 per adult and about $9.00 per kid (5-12yrs old) and kids under 5 would only $2.oo per age.

Having settle that then we try to figure out how to do her B'day invitation cards. I did one but my sister Pesi (the expert) who did my wedding invitation told me that the one I did is ugly and she will do a better one!:):):) I wasn't hurt by what she said but grateful and happy that she offers to help out and indeed the invitation she did was way way hundredth times better....

With the invitation cards out of the way, Erick went around to our friends and families houses and gave them the invitation cards. Our next task was perhaps the hardest was the hall. I took a day off work and went with my mom, Elenoa, lil sister, Lili and baby Rosario to Cabramatta where we bought almost all the staff needed to decorate the hall. Erick and I have already bought 5 of Disney Princesses Wall Papers from spotlight which cost $39 for one. All together our expenses for the hall which includes the tablecloths, lollies, lollies bag, baloons, B'day girl outfit, shoes etc were about 500!! And for the B'day cake alone it costs $350...So the rest of the money $1000 will be for the guests fees. Whew that was a lot of money but at the end it was all worth it. Everything are all ready now to decorate the hall for the B'day party.

On Friday night the 17th October, 2008 ( Rosario actually B'day date) after work around 9.30pm everyone (my family and Erick brother in law) was in the hall helping out in the decorations. The kids were having fun helping out and the B'day girl Rosario was there just running around and having a good time. The decorations didn't finish until 2.00am in the morning. Everyone was all exhausted and we quickly go home to rest for the B'day party that will start in a couple of hours.

So the actual B'day party took place on Saturday the 18th October, 2008 from 11.30am - 2.30pm. Most of the quests were families and only a few of Rosario's friends from church and also some of our friends from both church and work. Everything was going wonderful, my dad was the DJ playing mostly Tongan music..lol. My sister Pesi was the MC and my mom has prepared her own gifts to give away to Rosario quests of honors which were: Tia Roxy (Rosario's aunt), Tato (Rosario's grandma), Aunty Lesieli (Rosario's grandfather's sister), Grandpa Tuina.

On top of that the entertainments were beautiful. A tauolunga from Melenaite, Linda and Maggie (Rosario's aunties) and Toti and Charlie (Rosario's uncles) were the tulafale. And also Marlon (Rosario's cousin) was doing a karate show. And a 15 -20min movie of Rosario 1st year was presented that her father Erick & I put together for her as her birthday present from us. And for the kids we have "Pinata" with so many lollies bag for them to spoil themselves. :)

All our quests and families were having so much fun, the B'day girl was tired and exhausted that at one point she was sleeping then woke up playing, dancing and more crying...lol. She received so many presents, money and most importantly LOVE from everyone.

As I have said in the beginning everything was hard and time consuming but at the end Erick and I were happy. And we have learned that families are so important in our lives as they are the one who are there for us when we need help. Everyone has shows their love to our little family and we are grateful for them and we know that life without them will be nothing.

We truly hope that one day our daughter, Rosario will too realize how important family are and knows how much we love her and also her families who sacrifice so much to make her B'day a special day and also everyday of her life.

We love you and Happy Birthday to You Rosario Selena Delgado our little Princess.....
